Moving Forward

How can we move forward in Australia in this climate of terror, fear, hatred and constant bombardment in the press about the proposed Carbon Tax?

How can we live the best we can, day by day surrounded by language packed with explosives from every political side?

We citizens are powerless to change our governing body until the next election. We can use all our energy protesting, whinging, complaining however nothing changes. So perhaps it is time to make the change ourselves?

First, review the story presently in front of us.

One side believes that Climate Change is real, that humans are responsible for the symptoms considered to be detrimental and displayed by the earth. This side can demonstrate various scientific sources to substantiate their claim.

Another side believes that Climate Change is not real, that symptoms, considered to be detrimental, and displayed by the earth, are expressions of its natural cycle. This side can demonstrate various scientific sources to substantiate their claim.

As we know there are always two sides to every tale. This tale, like all great Greek myths before it, is an opportunity to be leveraged in an enterprise in one form or medium to maximize a financial return. For science to exist, it needs funding. Funding bodies need an enterprise in one form or medium in order to maximize a financial return. Appreciation of the financial agenda behind every scientific research project keeps the “science” in perspective.

Look closer at the present tale of the Prime Minister as a character. In her position through calculated stealth and ruthless complicity, whose ability to govern is totally dependent on one minority party and four rogue independents, this person is clearly driven by her own powerless five year old desperately trying to exert her authority against a wall of rejection and hatred, determined to change culture, change belief, change structure regardless of the charter of her job, the will of the people she took an oath to represent or a realistic global financial future for our country.

This present craziness has nothing to do with providing a congruent productive structure for Australia or Australians. It is clear that this person has recreated a scene from her childhood that she has relived in her head over and over again for many years. The story is so strong that she has now finally created it outside of herself and in our country, in our businesses, on our streets and in our homes. Never in our history has a Prime Minister been so despised. To withstand this national resentment day to day is a clue to perhaps how much she was bullied in her childhood and how much internal strength she has developed. Hers is a defiant and determined will that is on a path to demonstrate her personal power. Her charter to govern our country is all but forgotten in the wake of her personal quest.

So what can we do?

Start with our own stories.

Where do we do the same? Where are we on that same quest? Where is our will so defiant and determined that we would sacrifice so much in order to reclaim what we believe we have lost?

Whether you believe in Climate Change, or you believe in the cycles of the Earth, either way, start with your own backyard and apply the five Rs – Recycle, Reduce, Renew and Repair. An appreciation of the incredible resource that is our earth is simply a first step. Acknowledge that your story, your belief structure, your body, your mind, your soul are part of the earth, part of the tides, the natural rhythms, the planets and the elements. Align the values of the earth with family, community, work and your own. Appreciate what you have as it is right now. To appreciate is to effectively manage your Resource. Effectively manage your Time. Effectively manage your Energy. Effectively manage your Enterprise. Effectively manage your Finances.

Be the Prime Minister that YOU would be in your own life. Live to the benchmark that you demand of others. Hold yourself accountable to your own standard. Apply the five Rs to your own life regardless of the madness around you.

The tax will either be passed in parliament or it won’t. You have no control over that. If passed you have no option but to pay it in the various forms that it will find its way to your back pocket. If that’s the case, and I’ve calculated it will cost me approx an extra $3500.00 per annum, then find ways to either shave that from your existing budget OR leverage this opportunity to create that extra income.

The Labour Government will either be booted out next election or it won’t. You have no control over that other than casting your one valuable vote. If re elected, you have no option but to deal with the consequences of their actions. In the meantime, consciously develop and grow future leaders of this country in our schools, Universities, families, businesses and communities to look beyond the marketed science and look at the whole picture. Live and teach by example by appreciating nature in all its forms – the structure of the earth, the behaviour of humans and the nature of how we all tell our little stories colouring perception like painting by numbers.

Move forward in Australia inside of yourself as the first step. The rest will follow.

The Earth Mission

Our Mission is to:
Live a simpler life.
Live as part of the earth, part of the tides, the natural rhythms, the planets and the elements.
Align the values of the earth with family, community, work and mine.
Live with less.
Make better use of our resources.
Make better use of our time.

“A robin eats worms in the spring, because it needs the protein to lay eggs and raise chicks.
A robin eats fruit in the summer, because food is abundant and carbohydrates are lightweight energy.
And a robin eats seeds and nuts in the fall, to store fats for the long flight south.
In the same way, it is important for people to vary their diet throughout the year to remain healthy.
Eating locally does that.
It keeps you in touch with the cycle of nature wherever you live."

In our business world, the impact of our operations and actions on our networks, the community and the environment is something we take very seriously.
Feedback from clients, suppliers, associates, alliance partners, employees, shareholders, the community and the environment identifies the voids – the unfulfilled need and this provides the greatest opportunities for change and improvement.
Our quest is never ending as we collect, analyse, research, educate and share our information and ideas as individuals and as a company in the journey of our commitment to manage the impact of our business on the health and safety of our employees, contractors and members of the communities in which we operate and on the environment.

Please join us in this commitment by observing our Push The Earth policy when you do business with us.

Together we can make a difference.
